Mindroo is a wellness support tool and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified health professional or emergency services immediately.
Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Mindroo application (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Mindroo (“we”, “us”, or “our”), a service operated in Australia and available globally. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the App following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
If you are accessing the App from outside Australia, you are responsible for ensuring that your use of the App complies with the laws applicable in your jurisdiction.
Eligibility
You must meet the minimum age requirement in your country or region to use Mindroo. In all cases, you must be at least 13 years of age. In some jurisdictions the minimum age may be higher (for example, 16 in certain EU member states under GDPR). By using the App, you represent and warrant that:
• You meet the minimum age requirement in your jurisdiction
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• You will use the App in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws
If you are under 18 years of age, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
Not Medical Advice
Mindroo is a general wellness and mental health support tool. The content, features, and information provided through the App, including but not limited to mood tracking, AI chat responses, breathing exercises, journaling prompts, and wellbeing insights, are for informational and supportive purposes only.
The App does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or therapy. Nothing in the App should be interpreted as a substitute for professional medical advice, psychiatric care, psychological therapy, or any other professional health service.
Always seek the advice of a qualified health professional with any questions you may have regarding a medical or mental health condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read or experienced in the App.
In the event of a medical emergency or mental health crisis, contact your local emergency services immediately. In Australia, call 000.
User Accounts
To access certain features of the App, you must create an account. You are responsible for:
• Providing accurate and complete information when creating your account
• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these Terms.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Mindroo only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You must not:
• Use the App for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its systems
• Transmit any harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content through the App
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App
• Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality
• Share your account with others or create multiple accounts
• Use automated tools to access or interact with the App
AI Chat Feature
Mindroo includes an AI-powered chat feature (“Milo”) designed to provide general wellness support and conversation. By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree that:
• Milo is not a licensed therapist, counsellor, psychologist, or medical professional
• Responses generated by the AI are automated and may not always be accurate or appropriate
• The AI chat is not suitable for crisis situations or emergencies
• You should not not rely solely on the AI chat for mental health support
• We are not liable for any decisions you make based on AI chat responses
• Messages you send are processed by OpenAI’s API as described in our Privacy Policy

Your Content
When you enter content into the App such as journal entries, check-in responses, and notes (“Your Content”), you retain ownership of that content. By using the App, you grant us a limited licence to store and process Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the App’s services to you.
We do not claim ownership of Your Content and will not share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual Property
The App and all of its content, features, and functionality including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software are owned by Mindroo and are protected by Australian and international intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, or commercially exploit any part of the App without our express written permission.
Subscription and Payments
Certain features of Mindroo may be available through a paid subscription. If you purchase a subscription:
• A free trial period may be offered. Any unused portion of a free trial will be forfeited upon purchase of a subscription
• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel your subscription through your Apple ID Account Settings
• No refunds are provided for the unused portion of a subscription period, except where required by applicable law
• Prices are displayed in your local currency where available, otherwise in Australian Dollars (AUD)
• We reserve the right to change subscription prices with reasonable notice
If you are located in a jurisdiction with statutory refund or cooling-off rights, those rights are not affected by this clause.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Mindroo and its directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or AUD $100, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any statutory rights or consumer guarantees you may have under the laws of your jurisdiction that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including under the Australian Consumer Law or equivalent consumer protection legislation in your country.
Australian Consumer Law
For Australian users, our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the services remedied if they fail to be of acceptable quality.
Disclaimers
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any content provided through the App.
Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including if we believe you have violated these Terms.
You may terminate your account at any time through the App settings. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease.
The following sections survive termination: Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, Disclaimers, and Governing Law.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
If you are located outside of Australia, you acknowledge that by using the App you are contracting with an Australian entity, and Australian law governs these Terms. This does not affect any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your own country.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable under applicable law, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
